External DVD burner for 600 mhz g3 imac

I'm looking to buy a dvd burner for my g3 600 MHz, 512MB. os x 10.3 imac. I was looking at this one http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=349111&is=REG

but i notice the specifications ask for a G4 500 MHz processor. would it still work on my g3? Would it be worth it?

It should work fine, as long as you use it with the FireWire ports on your computer. If your iMac doesn't have FireWire ports, then it may not work -- USB 1.1 has a tough time burning even CD-R disks at 4x, much less DVD-R disks.
