I have a titanium powerbook running tiger 10.4.2, and it has an external firewire disk attached. the disk is called maxtor. it starts and mounts properly; however, for some unknown reason it gets renamed "maxtor 1" and a new "maxtor" folder gets created under "/volumes".
there are a couple of disk entries in system.log:
jul 27 15:54:01 localhost diskarbitrationd[33]: disk0s3 hfs f12fbb16-6762-3c00-8771-7fd09ea5c116 booty /
jul 27 15:54:01 localhost diskarbitrationd[33]: disk2s3 hfs e6264128-4510-3a1b-ac7f-d0f85cb9f791 maxtor [not mounted]
...
jul 27 15:54:27 tv-mac diskarbitrationd[33]: disk2s3 hfs e6264128-4510-3a1b-ac7f-d0f85cb9f791 maxtor /volumes/maxtor 1
any ideas?
