External Harddrive Not Showing In Finder Or Disk Utility

I have a 1TB WD external hard drive that I previously had on a router. I am trying to get access to the drive as it would be good not to throw it out.

I have it plugged in and when I look at Finder and Disk Utility it isn't there.

When I open up Terminal and go to /Volumes, I can see it there

Code:
Andrews-MacBook-Pro:Volumes xxxx$ ls -la
total 88
drwxrwxrwt@ 9 root admin 306 1 Aug 14:44 .
drwxr-xr-x 35 root wheel 1258 1 Aug 08:34 ..

When I attempt to eraseDisk I am told it can't find the disk.

I am ok to wipe the disk clean or just get access to it so i can check the files on it and then erase it. Happy either way.

I have also tried to mount it
Code:
Andrews-MacBook-Pro:Volumes xxxx$ sudo mount Storage
mount: Storage: unknown special file or file system.

Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get a dying drive to mount. Have you tried connecting it to the router again?
