Hey everyone what's up? This is my first post on this forum.
I have a 20 gb notebook harddrive that I took from a Dell. I put in in an external enclosure but my powerbook running osx tiger won't recognize it.
I'm probably doing something wrong but would like some experienced thoughts on what i could do to get this HD to read on my mac.
I'd appreciate your help brovs.
:)

Does it work with other computers?
What kind of enclosure?
Have you checked disk utility or System Profiler to see if it is found but not initialized?

well it works on other pc's. I haven't tried it on another mac. it's a crappy enclosure I found @ work.
Yeah I looked in disk utility and it woudln't detect it. I was also wondering if there is any difference between a mac and a pc harddrive.

The hard drives are basically the same apart from the file system (FAT32, NTFS, HFS+, etc).

If it was showing up in Disk Utility then I'd say format it and it would be fine, but you said it's not.

What kind of connection are you using to your Mac? USB or FireWire?
