External HD Interferes with Wi-Fi

I have this: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Macally/PHRS100SUA/

With a 250gb WD HD installed in it. It is routed through a belkin USB hub to my MBP 15" Unibody (first revision of Unibodies). With 10.5.8 and 10.5.7 when ever I have the HD on and the USB cable from the HUB plugged in to my Mac my WiFi is gone. No reception, or internet for either my MiFi or Airport Express (sits next to the computer).

The minute I eject the HD and turn it off (switch on back of case) the WiFi gets going and Internet is back up. I have tested it on with another MBP not attached to it with no problems on the unattached Mac. I leave the USB cable plugged in and HD off and it works.

Anybody have a clue as to what is going on here?

Does that Macally still cut out your Wifi if you plug it directly into your MacBook Pro USB port (disconnect the USB hub for this test)?
Have you tried a different USB cable?
Do you also lose the Wifi if you use a FireWire connection to your MacBook Pro from your Macally HD? Be sure to unplug the USB if you try that...
