One of my children recently started college with a new MacBook Pro, and his old 1.33 GHz iBook G4 (mid-2005 model with the 32 mb ATI Radeon Mobility 9550 graphics card) has been passed down to his middle-school sister. I used the Screen Spanning Doctor hack on it years ago, and it was driving an older 19" monitor for him. I'd like to get her a 23" external monitor with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080, but I'm not sure the graphics card can drive this.
So my question: is anyone using an iBook G4 with an ATI Radeon 9550 graphics card hacked with Screen Spanning Doctor to drive an external display with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080? Thanks.
