I have posted this question accidentally under the wrong subject, unfortunately I could not edit the post. Please appologise!
I have an installation problem with my external speakers. I am working on a new IMac 20" - and my external speaker system (Logitech Z3) was working perfectly on OSX 10.4.7. I have upgraded my system to 10.4.8 and now the speakers are not recognised by the Mac. In the Utilities Profiler I only have built in speakers. If I plug the external speakers into the headphone socket, its registering as headphones and I can listen to the music over my Headset plugged into thhe Logitech soundcontroller. Unfortunately putting it back into the external output socket its not registering as external audio.
I have tried another speaker set and they are also not working. The Logitech system is also not faulty as it plays on my other PC.
Some help would be greatly appreciated.
