If anyone has an idea about this I would be grateful indeed as 3 months of trying has failed.
In my music studio, I have a powerPC Mac G5 running 10.3.9 (Panther). Yes its old but its installed with Final Cut Pro, and I need to keep it. Anyway, The Presonus V-Fire is a 16 audio channel in/out interface that converts firewire to Roland's R-BUS format, thence to Roland Hard disc recorder. With this setup, the Presonus is properly recognised in Audio/MIDI setup on the Mac in all its 16 channels. I can stream multilple channels of audio IN to the Mac (using Logic DAW software) so that works fine.
However, regardless of the source of audio on the Mac (Logic, Quicktime player etc) no audio comes OUT via the Presonus. OUTPUT when switched to Inbuilt Audio, or USB (in Audio-MIDI utility) works fine but as soon as I select Presonus it goes mute.
I suspect this is something to do with OSX. I have re-installed the presonus driver btw, and repaired permissions.
