Greetings all - wonder if you can help me with a little problem - bought a used Mac Pro 3.1 tower about a month ago - did a clean install and am running OSX 10.5.8 - a couple of days ago one of the fans started acting up (the rear/single I suspect) - Shortly after start-up one of the fans kicks up to high speed and stays there - the only way to stop it is to put the computer to sleep or turn it off - after that began to occur I installed a small app to allow me to see CPU temp - heat does not seem to be the issue - the fan is running on high now and core temp is 81F - or so the software says - I cleaned out the tower this afternoon with a brush and a vacuum - it was very dusty but is no longer - at the same time I checked plug connections which appeared fine - so far no joy - it still makes as much noise as the G4 it replaced - any suggestions?
