I have a Fantom Green Drive 500GB and multiple computers with data I want to back-up. Is there a process that will allow me to configure the external drive to store each computers information separately?

That depends on your backup solution.

Are you looking to back up various types of computers (e.g., Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, etc.)?

What kind of backups do you desire (e.g., incremental, clone, one-time, subset of data, complete backup, etc.)?

Please elaborate on exactly what kind of backup system you would like to implement and what kinds of computers you'll be backing up. Without that information, it's virtually impossible to suggest some kind of backup solution that would fulfill your needs, as we don't know what those needs are.

Thanks for the response. I have two MacBooks (Leopard), two iMacs (Snow Leopard), an IBM desktop (Windows) and another laptop (Windows). I just want to be able to save the files on each of the computers in case they were to crash or for some reason I was to lose the information, I would have a back up. I do not know what incremental, one-time, subset of data mean. I am not that computer savy and was looking for an "idiot" proof system where I could plug each computer into the external drive and the could configure it to accept and store the files from the IBM in one area, each of the iMacs in their own area, etc. I hope this gives you more info to go on. I appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks,
Ken
