Fast user switching missing?

The fast user switching button at the top of my screen is missing.

Can someone please tell me how to get it back?

Check your Login Options in the Accounts PreferencePane, make sure it's enabled.

Maybe run the 10.4.4 Combo Updater and see if that brings it back.
