I've been trying to configure final cut to work with a new Sony HDV deck (HVR-M15U). I've had a series of problems which I've been able to resolve. But this last one has me stumped.
When I open the log and capture window I am able to control the sony deck and view the footage on an external monitor but the same footage doesn't show up in the log and capture window (it's black). So I tried to capture now but it says it's "waiting for data" then finally it aborts with a warning "No data from device. Capture aborted due to lack of incoming data . Check your connection and that the deck is playing." That's as far as I got. The deck plays and there is a connection!
I've trashed all my FCP and QT preferences and I read somewhere that it may help to reinstall the latest version of QT but I have yet to try this and fail to see what it has to do with the above issue.
Any suggestions?
