File recovery woes, Norton UnErase quirks, the universe, and everything

Greetings,
Having two keyboard and two monitors next to eachother (for separate computers) I foolishly deleted my entire documents folder on the more important computer. Tried using data rescue X, which proved useless... however norton UnErase worked wonderfully in finding the important photoshop files and fireworks png's. The only problem is it didn't have a default file-type for indesign documents, and doesn't seem to be able to locate those even when I add the file-type to the program with several example files. I'm currently running a full catalogue tree search, as opposed to a quick one to see if it picks up anything else... but any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks,
graham
