Hello

I just bought FileMaker Pro 5.5 and installed it , however when i open it i chosse a template and save it then the applicatin unexpectly quits.

I tried creating a blank documment but it does the same.

I have Mac OS X 10.1 installed and the application runs directly from OS X.

Any comments or help is apreciated.

A few quick questions,

Are you running it in Carbon, or in Classic mode?

Have you put the preferences into the trash?

Have you tried a re-install of FMPro?

Have you contacted FileMaker on this issue?

I've had similar problems running FMPro in Classic, but deleting the preferences seemed to do the trick.

Hi,

I am having a similar problem with OSX and FM 5.5. I have a database that can be served to OS 9.1 clients by FM server 5.5 in OS X, but can not be used by FM 5 in OS X at all. I have recovered it twice to see if that would fix it, I have reinstalled FM 5, and I have attempted to run it directly with FM 5 in OS X without success.

The file is an 8 meg shared database that is password protected. It correctly launches FM 5 and asks for a password and then crashes FM 5 as it tries to open up. OS X sends up a dialog box to let me know that FM 5 has crashed and it won't affect the rest of my computer.

The real kicker is that OS 9 has NO problem using it.

Any help would be appreciated.
