We have isolated a need for a database solution here at work and have settled on FilemakerPro.
We have 15 Macs that will need access to the database files.
My question is therefore:
What is the difference between a multi-user licence Filemaker Pro and Filemaker Pro Server? The Filemaker website is not forthcoming with the answer. My guess, and I'm probably wrong, is that with multi-user licence Filemaker Pro everyone can design the database, add fields etc, but with the Server everyone can only enter data but not alter the database design itself. Is this right? If that is the case, the Server would be the way to go for us but will we still need to but a copy of Filemaker Pro to be able to design the database in the first place?
