Whenever I save a file to my desktop or take a snapshot of the screen the files inevitably fail to appear on the desktop - often for over an hour!?
This bug It has rendered my brand new dual processor G5 (running OSX 10.4.3) effectively useless. I get more work done on a ten year old PC than on a brand new Mac because 'Finder' is so hopeless. I spend all my time wondering where it's decided to put my files today, and if they really exist at all when no trace of them can be found.
I do wonder if it's worth wasting money on a Mac if there are so many fundamental bugs in the core filing system - (do we really need four different and incompatible ways to hide a file?) Even the simplest file operations demand a visit to the unix terminal, something a 20 year old operating system should have managed to get beyond by now.
Oh well, at least it looks pretty.
