Filesharing with windows XP

I want to share files between windows XP and a mac and I know that macs can use smb to transfer files but I was wondering if theres something I can install on my Windows XP machine that will allow it to share files using afp? that way its more native to the mac.

I did notice one program called MacServerIP but that costs $300 US. Is there a cheeper one? I'm not willing to spend $300 on this.
