final cut pro problems - missing device

hey all,

my fc 5.0 has a weird problem.
yesterday, i was batch capturing from my panasonic nv-gs280 (connected via the front fw port), and everything went fine. but as i was trying to edit the final version to video, suddenly, final cut didn't find my camera (missing video device). i tried plug/unplug, restart, etc. several times, but it just didn't work. i also tried print to tape, but the camera didn't get the signal. i also made an attempt to capture, but it failed (same problem).

could anybody please help me?

ps.: OSX and QT are up-to-date.

Hi balaaz. Have you tried testing with another cable in case the cable might be bad?

I know that recently there was a firmware update for the Mac Pro, so that might be something you might need to do.

hey nix,

i performed the upate before this editing incident, and i was able to capture, so i guess it can't be that.
i tried another cable - still nothing
