i'm attempting to help a colleague with a project in final cut. i have provided her with transparent psd files for logos, etc. how does she apply an outer glow through final cut pro? the transparency of the bg was preserved but the outer glow disappeared. thanks.
 
Hmm.. I am not aware of a glow that can be applied in FCP... (I'll look, but I'm not aware of one that comes with it) However, an easy fix would be for you to integrate the glow into the graphic, instead of leaving it as an effect on the layer.

actually, the glow was applied to the logo in PS. the logo is a smart object. are you suggesting applying a glow in Illustrator to the native vector art BEFORE importing as a smart object into PS?
 
Hi mspain77,

I would make a copy and render/apply any layer effects, and merge all the layers that don't need to be separate.
