For Cocoa apps that use the 'standard' find panel, there's no need to open the panel for a simple find if you're looking for a duplicate occurance of text. Just select the first instance of the text you're searching for, hit command-E ('enter into find') then command-G for find again.
This also works in BBEdit, and probably other text editors as well.
