Finder busted...

AAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!,
I can boot my system just fine but as soon as I try to do anything in the finder, it dissapears and begins spawning multiple Finders 'till infinity.

I CAN however, use any apps I can get to in the Dock including System Prefs.

I've run Drive 10, Apple's Disk Utilitiy, Repaired permissions, run Norton booted from OS9, Disk Warrior, etc.

Why is this happening and what can I do!? Normaly I would just do a clean install and be done with this, but since I cant get to the finder, I cant copy any data out first before blowing the drive away!

can you use terminal? If you have another harddrive thats the same size or larger then your messed up one you could hook it up and if you know how to mount drives from terminal just copy everything to the other drive... Or mabye booting it up in firewire target disk mode and backing up everything that way would be easier...

I've had the exact same 4 hours ago. Weird.

Anyway I booted off the x.2 install cd and did repair permissions, and all was ok.
