We have a user with a new iMac who's computer was working properly for a couple of days and now he can not throw any file in the trash can that resides on his desktop. He also can not save a file to his desktop. When attempting to throw a file away, the system wants him to supply a log in name and password. We had to change his user account to administor the computer so his log in/password would work, otherwise only the admin login/password would work. There was one error that made mention of a "com.apple.desktopservices" issue but we can not find this file. We found some info stating that there may be a finder lock flag?
We have run the Disk Utility.app but that didn't fix any of the issues. We also threw away all the preferences from: users > (name) > Library > Preferences. Didn't help.
Any ideas?
