"Finder not running"

Just installed Panther, and while the Finder is definitly running it appears in the dock as if it's not (no arrow, says "not running" when right clicked). Anyone else experience this running Panther?

I have Jaguar and the Finder dosen't run at all :'(

Dominyo: I had the same problem in Jaguar last night: try Relaunching it in the Force Quit dialog. That worked for me

Yeah, I'm having that a lot in Jaguar as well. It first happened after changing icons. But if it happens in Panther too, that is hardly the cause.

I didn't change he icon. I threw an importaint file away by accident

I've had this in 10.2.6, very random behavior. I haven't seen it in the last 2 days since I turn off all of my auto-login items. (Konfab, VirtualDesktop, Net Monitor, and HenWen/LetterSticker.)
