Finder Not Working

I just upgraded to Panther and now my Finder will not run. When I restart the computer, the little triangle appears under Finder when the Dock first pops up, but then it disappears and I can't start Finder after that. Anyone else encounter this problem? Needless to say, this is VERY annoying.

I did a search, but couldn't find anything directly on point.
 
You might wanna try booting from the OS X install CD and repairing your disk (not permissions, the other repair).

Did you do an "upgrade install" from Jaguar to Panther? If your disk was even in slightly damaged condition (impercievable in daily use, but still damaged) and you didn't repair the disk before doing an upgrade install, there's a good chance that an older, unnoticeable problem could manifest into something like that.

I would highly advise against doing an "upgrade install" from Jaguar to Panther, instead opting to back all your important stuff up and doing a fresh install of Panther. The "upgrade install" is known to cause problems sometimes.
