Finder

I accidentally took finder out of my dock and now I want it back but I don't know how to do it. i understand how to do it with normal programs but not finder. please help.

Hmm... Well, according to Apple, "Keep in mind that there are a couple things that you won't be able to remove; namely, the Trash and the Finder."
It's possible that it's just hidden. Try to click and hold on the dock and see if you can "show" the finder.

"Your Harddrive" - /System/Library/CoreServices
Here you'll find the Finder, drag it back to your Dock.
