Firefox 3 on Mac - Fast & Safari "Look"

I recently downloaded the Firefox 3 Beta, and wow, what a difference from the previous version. I typically don't like using Firefox on the Mac because it was always slow to load and just didn't have the pizzaz that Safari had in speed and what not.

Firefox 3 however, changes the game and is very fast to load and out of the box, copies the Safari look and feel very closely.

Anyhow, if you haven't given it a try... it would be worth trying out.

Viewing this site with FF3, it's much faster than my current FF. Nice update on the interface. The location bar is nice with two font size for title and url. Managing how FF3 handles filetypes is one step instead of 3 or more. "Prefs>Apps>"

My only issue with safari is that loading bar in the location... it runs the length of the browser practically, it may take the same time to load as FF but it just visually looks like it takes longer.

Will post when the Final Release is set to be out.

I'm on FF3 now and I really like the interface. It is a huge improvement on FF2, and in some aspects better than Safari. My only complaint is the retro image loading icons that don't seem to plague Safari.

QION: I LIKE THOSE SEPARATORS ON YOUR DOCK, CAN I GET THAT TO WORK SOME HOW WITH TIGER?

Thanks Qion... that makes a huge difference for me. I always thought the dock was a little messy. ;)

FF3 Beta4 Updated see link FF3 Beta 4

Slick new back button... tab slider has a nice transition. Let's see how slick you are... can you take a screen capture and get the motion caught at the same time... (hint: slow exposure time before pressing <⌘⇧3>.

It took a few tries but i got it...

There are problems-at least for me. The bookmark toolbar does not work and most add-ons don't work.

I'm about to give it a try in a few minutes. I was using FF 3.0b3 on Slackware but it still was missing some things (like the Home icon). I had tried FF 3.0b2 on my iMac but swiftly got rid of it. Hopefully this one is much better.
