Firefox search engines won't install

When trying to install new search engines in Firefox, they claim that they will function when Firefox is restarted. However, they do not appear in the search engine dropdown, and the search bar is now useless.

I am asking for advice on this site because it works fine on my PC and I'm new to mac.

Any advice would be appreciated.
 
Which one you trying to install?

Make sure the that search engine plugin is in your searchplugins folder in Firefox/Profiles/(your profiles name)/
