So I recently had a major meltdown and had to reinstall my OS. The relevant part of my setup is that my Music and Photos are stored on my older G4 (hereby server) and the relevant libraries and .xml and whatnot symlinked. I connect my iBook to the server with IP over firewire and plug my iPod into one of the USB 2.0 slots on the iBook. In the past this has been nice and fast. But for whatever reason I'm getting horrible speeds out of the firewire connection. I can't find anything different about the setup from before I had to reinstall. In the finder it's saying that it would take abotu 20 minutes to transfer a 100+MB file.
Any ideas where to start to figure out why it's so slow?
