Firewire Camera no go?

Hey, I know this might be asking too much of the beta...but I am surprised that Firewire camcorders dont work with OSXPB. With apples recent emphasis on DV editing and firewire it seems odd that it was left out.

In attempting to use Apple Video Player (for which there is no counterpart in MacOSX) in classic it says it needs v. 1.7.3 of apple video startup extension (which apperently dosent work in classic/OSX). IspQ also does not detect my camera... So I guess there is no way to get DV into my mac with MacOSX running. If anyone has found a way please fill me in.

Desperately trying to find a way to avoid dual booting....

I just bought a Canon MIniDV camcorder...I tryed with iSpq and didnt work. under preferences/video I get "no device available" I tryed reinstalling ispq whith the camera connected and still no go.
However I can play with the camera and iMovies fine.
I also have try to use ircle (wich also has video) and doesnt work under OSX
So i guess we cant use a camera and OSX...is that right?
Good luck
Iuis:)

Use iMovie to capture. it works with my Sony DCRTRV Digital cam.
