So, I have bought a new external drive (160GB acomdata) and have been using it with its usb2.0 connection. Very fast. But I wanted to stream video so I bought a retractable firewire cable and used it in the drive's firewire port and it was way slower. For a 18GB file, the usb 2.0 managed a transfer at 20 minutes while the firewire approached estimated times of 12 hours. This is not normal. Anyone have any ideas?
