firewire problem

hi,i am having problem with firewire .
whenever i plug in firewire device,the os will halt at start up stage.
i 've updated every driver that has to do with firewire but it'll just stop at start up .
the only way is to unplug and plug it in after start up.
any suggestions?

What kind of computer do you have? What OS are you running? How much memory, are you trying to use it with a program, or is this in the OS itself?
Exactly what kind of device(s) are you trying to plug in?

Just need some more info so that we can help ya better
