firewire to SCSI question

hi everybody

I am looking for a way to connect an external FW case to a Mac equiped with a SCSI bus. In my case an an PB 1400 which I want to use as an MP3 jukebox cause I got a Pismo recently.

Any sugestions are thankfully welcome.

By the way do you know of any way to install OSX on my beloved 1400?

Purchase a pcmcia firewire card. They work well and will do what you need.

You could also purchase a g3 upgrade for your PB 1400, that will be the only way to make it fast enough to run X.

You will need to track down the shareware file that lets you install on unsupported hardware.

As far as I know you have to have a PCMCIA Slot which supports "cardbus anything" and to my knowledge the 1400 does not have this.

I have a Sonnet G3/400 in there.

Bummer, you are quite right about the cardbus thing, G3 series and up for cardbus support.

Unsupported utilityx 2 is what you want, here is the url to version tracker.

I haven't been able to find a way to go from scsi to fw usually people go the other way.
