How do you install firmware updates if you dont have a OS9 installed?

I haven't seen anything or reversing a firmware upgrade, but you could try, at your own risk, using the older version and try doing an update with it.

I only ask because version 4. 1. 8f5 is causing so many problems!

I'd search Apple's Knowledge Database... Also: What Mac do you have specifically? Was the firmware update intended for your machine? Has Apple already released a newer version for your specific machine? My guess is you have an 1.6 GHz PowerMac G5 and installed the update for 'single-processor' PowerMacs that was only intended for 1.8 GHz machines (but badly labelled...). If so, I thought Apple had already released an updated firmware for your machine.

I wouldn't try to reverse a firmware upgrade unless it was on a machine I was willing to junk if it did not work.
