fitting a superdrive to a DP G4

I was wondering if it is possible to add a superdrive to a DP 867 Pmac. I have seen the Pioneer A05 drive that Apple use for sale on ebay and it's quite reasonablly priced. If I bought a new boxed version and installed it on my powermac would it be recognised as a superdrive and allow iDVD etc to work? Any advice appreciated!!

I would think you can. Just make sure you have updated the OS and check to see if firmware must be updated.

You can almost be positive if you want to upgrade a Powermac someone has done the same exact thing. Check out xlr8yourmac.com drive forum. Put in your specs and then read the results and learn from other peoples mistakes. Good luck.
