Flash audio sounds like fingernails down a blackboard

I cannot listen to flash video on websites like YouTube etc. as the audio is all scrambed and sounds like 1000 people running their fingernails down a blackboard all at once.

This has only just started happening, I am *pretty sure* it was happening before I installed 10.4.10, so I don't think it is caused by that.

I have provided an audio sample so people can hear what I mean (see attached)
Turn your speakers down! I reduce the volume in the MP3 file but it is still loud and annoying

Some things to note
- happened suddenly AFAIK
- does this in all browsers, not just safari
- I tried using a clean 'dummy' account and the same thing happened
- if i download the flash file to desktop and play it in VLC, the sound is OK

is there a pref file or some other library file i should try resetting?

I think it's Aliens trying to contact you LOL

No, I have heard that before on some things, like a space sound more then a thousand people. I don't think I went to look for a fix, so maybe it could of been current connection time and a better connection fixed it.

Maybe try the same youtube at another time, or maybe it was that particular file corrupted or something. Are other youtubes ok?

thanks for the reply sitstaunch.

i fixed it by reinstalling Flash player. I thought I had already done that, but out of desperation I did it again and it worked ?

I was hoping it would be more complicated than that!
