Flash taking ages to load in Safari

Hi,

I have a 1.2ghz Mac Mini with 1GB ram running Tiger 10.4.2. If I go to any site with say, flash banners/adverts it seems to take forever to load the page. For example, going to www.ebay.co.uk can take upto 15/20 seconds before it fully loads. I do this on my old laptop (500mhz P3) and it will load instantly (under 1 second). I've tried all the usual cache clearing and what have you but I constantly am having this problem. Is this just a problem with Safari, period?

Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Ben

Nah, its normal I dunno about the slowness of loading/downloading the actual movie, but for playback it is generally slow in Safari due to that the Flash player hasn't been optimized for the Mac platform. If you wish for playback to be slightly snappier, consider Firefox.

What version of the flash player do you have? They recently released a new version (8) for the Mac which is much, much quicker than the original version that shipped with OS X (even Tiger).

Yeah its version 8, the latest one from the Macromedia website. Its not that its slow in playing, just it seems to take forever to create the flash object on the page. They play fine, just take upto 20 seconds in some cases to instantise and for the page to render fully.
