I just read here that Panther will not be doing the .DS_Store thing. So is Mac OS X going to substitute their previous use for .DS_Store with something else?
I've removed a bunch of .DS_Store files and have been browsing around with the finder in Panther - I haven't seen one deposited yet! This would be a great thing for anyone using filesharing with non-Mac OS X machines.
