Ive had my mac book pro for about 4 months now with no problems and recently i have been seeing some annoying and potentially risky problems. For example, i want to open a folder with about 4 gigs of important pictures and i see that the folder icon is not there, i click on the name and the folder appears, but everything inside the folder doesnt show up. I have money making projects on my computer andi cant afford to loose them randomly. Anyone have anything to say? Has this happened to anyone?

Oh yeah, It runs the Intel chip...could that be part of it?

Maybe you should back up your files and re-install your osx. I've never heard of this prob from any macbook or mbp users yet.

I think I have the same problem on my PPC G5. I wasn't sure that I did it carelessly. I cannot figure it out. I might think that there is a small bug in the OS X. The best way for us to drag the pictures on a DVD for safety.

could be something in the .ds_store file perhaps. Or, if it's only happening with that one folder, you may have a corrupt file in the directory. In addition to backing up all pertinent data on that computer, I would run a permissions repair, check to see that the permissions are correct for the folder (in Get Info) i.e. you don't have Owner as you with "read write," and then Group as you with "No Access." You can try running Yasu (free download) in the small chance that a cache file is messing you up. Lastly I'd put the pictures in another folder, and if that didn't work, I'd do an Archive and reinstall of the OS followed by a Disk Warrior.,
