folder icons

i can change the icon of a folder once in os x
when i want another icon afterwards it is impossible to do so... i can delete the first icon, but not copy a new one

strange, i am not the only one with that problem

i've only noticed this with a few apps. normally a reboot or logging out and back in solves this. also, make sure the program isn't running while attempting to change the icon.

you might also try just pasting over the top of your previous custom icon rather than cutting it first.

thanks edX, but the problem is not with apps, but with simple stupid document folders or hrad drive icons

change the icon (regardles what you see) to the one you want and simply restart the finder

Try Icon Cleaner (it's freeware), it might solve it as well.
