Font Book problems

Using: Mac OS X 10.3.2
I need to activate a font. It is a Postscript Type 1 Outline Font.
When I use the (+) add feature in Font Book, and I browse for my font, It shows it in the list but it is greyed out. All PS Type 1 fonts are greyed out and the TrueType fonts show up and are selectable.
I went to another co-workers machine with the same OS version as me, and they can add PS Type 1 fonts just fine.

Any Ideas?

Thanks.

Assuming that you are logged in as Owner/Admin, go to the Utility folder>Disk Utility. Verify and Repair permissions on the drive.

Sounds like you're only seeing the "printer/outline" font files and not the "bitmap/screen" font files.

Not sure, but why would it be different on this machine, and fine on others just like it. In fact this machine has been freshly reformatted about a month ago.

I'm getting the same thing. I backed fonts up before the upgrade to Panther. When I copy them back it's saying there is only 5MB of fonts when it should be about 200MB. Get info tells me all the fonts I copied are 0KB Unix executable files. I checked from another computer running OS 9 and file sizes are correct and both the outline and screen files show. Help?
