Font Manager compatibility

Using either Tiger or Leopard OS X, are there problems with having both Mac Font Book and Linotype Font Explorer on same computer? I do have both + don't know how to use either; and having 4 computers on same network; trying to get them all compatible fontwise ! Very Messy for the novice!
 
Having both is not a problem. Using both can be. There is no mystery to what either utility does. Fonts that have been disabled will not appear in your Font menu, Character Palette, and Keyboard Viewer.
