Font panel gone in Cocoa apps

I'm not sure what caused this, but it happened sometime after I installed OS X 10.1. The font panel stopped working in Cocoa Apps. It didn't die all at once; first it stopped working in TextEdit, then it stopped working in Fire; now it doesn't seem to work in any Coca app. Which is really a drag, since there's no way to change fonts in a Cocoa application except by using the fonts panel. A restart didn't fix the problem, and I can't think of anything else that would work.

Has anyone had anything similar happen, and if so, were you able to fix it?

I just noticed the exact same problem here and haven't figure out a way to bring this back yet...

If anybody has a clue, please let us know!

The way I got it back was to go to the FontCollections folder in the ~/Library folder, and delete the font collection I had just made. That cleared the problem up. On the other hand, I don't know why creating a font collection would make the Cocoa font panel disappear. I'll have to do a bit more research...

Hope this helps.

I removed all the collections I had and, as you mentioned, everything went back to normal...

Strange bug!

Thanks though...
