Fonts?

So what's the deal with OS X fonts? I snooped around and found the Font folder in the system library, and noticed they are .dfont files. Are these some kind of new PS format? Is there a converter for classic fonts? I would hate to think that my font collection is no longer useful.

OSX will read your old fonts, although it appears to be less tolerant of corrupted font suitcases than previous versions. Just drop them in /Library/Fonts/ or ~/Library/fonts/

Good, so it can read them, but is there a new format as well?
