Force quite and Samba problem

I have had this problem for the third time in two weeks. The first week and a half of Jaguar was great. Then I ran into a problem with these two symptoms,

Using go to server to connect to a windows machine just hangs for ever until I cancel it. Force Quit stops working both by keyboard shortcut and by selecting it from the Services menu. Simply nothing happens.

I have reinstalled Jaguar twice and it has always fixed this problem but there must be a simpler way of solving this. Obviously it is going to be a reocurring issue. I have installed the 10.2.1 update but it is the same.

Can someone please give me some idea how to fix this or what might be causing it?
 
Ok so I have to reply to my own post. The problem is a corrupted apple.com plist file. I didn't have time to pinpoint which one. I just deleted them all and restarted. The system built new ones.

This may be the solution to many problems here. I didn't loose anything by doing this except a few IE prefs.

Something is corrupting these plist files. If I have this problem again I will post exactly which one causes the above symptoms.
