Forced to restart OS 10.2 every day at tea time

I have an unusual problem every day some time between 16:01-16:59, my screen goes a transparent grey (I can still see all the icons behind this grey) and a dialog box tells me, in every language known to man “You must shutdown you computer hold down the power key” any ideas?

That would be the new "user friendly" kernel panic.

Hmm. For a start disconnect any third-party peripherals, remove any added RAM modules etc…

Do you have AppleCare?

If you don't know what you're doing, removing ALL your peripherals (except your mouse and keyboard and monitor) is a good start, but if you don't know how to remove RAM, don't do it. Call Apple.

In any event the first thing they'll tell you to do is to disconnect everything but your mouse and keyboard and see if it still happens, so you might as well start with that.
