I noticed that when I try to print (but also to export to eps) from a FreeHand 10 document with high resolution images imported the application sistematically tell me the message "cuold not complete your request becaue yhere is no enough memory".
If i launch freeHand in classic mode I can print or export the same document as eps without problems.

Any Ideas?

There was a freehand 10.0.1 update released, very quietly by macromedia, and only available to registered users. It doesn't fix a great deal of the bugs (most of which only exist running under OS9 or classic), but hopefully it will fix your issue for you.

Thanks for your reply. The version of freehand that I have is the 10.0.1.67 that came with Macromedia Studio MX package. As the version is already updated is not necessary to update again, according to Macromedia.
But the problem still continue. My version is a localized (italian) one... baybe this is the reason why...

You do have the most recent version.
You are not doing anything wrong. Freehand 10 for mac is the buggiest version ever released (though it is much better than running it in OS9, where is is pretty bad). The localization is most likely the cause.

We have been using it at work for over a year now. It was tested ONLY in Mac OSX, not in OS9. Since it is a Carbon app (attn. Macromedia - that means it MUST WORK ON BOTH OS9 AND OSX!!), it should work correctly in both, but it is still bug ridden. At least under OSX you can tint grayscale images without crashing EVERY time. Oh, and if you have global font activation enabled in ATM Deluxe on OS9, Freehand 10 cannot create new documents.

Thanks JeffCGD for your reply. So all I have to do is waiting a Macromedia update that I hope will be soon realased as I see the mine isn't the only bug an that FreeHand was one of the first applicaions released for OSX too MORE then one year ago!! Are they planning to stop devlopement under mac?

Thanks again

Macromedia took over 14 months to release a point release that fixed virtually NONE of the issues with Freehand 10, and had NO publicity about it when they finally did, so don't hold your breath for another.

In fact, the biggest change the 'update' made was to modify the tabbed palettes into 'layered palettes' in order to get out of the lawsuit Adobe are bringing against them (apparently Adobe are claiming to 'own' the patent on tabbed interfaces). This also made them work less effectively, using more screen space and cramping the tool box up. Thanks a lot, Macromedia (Sarcasm).
