Frequent kernel panics in 10.2 on PBG4 400 - any thoughts ?

Just installed Jaguar on a Powerbook G4 400mhz with 256mb ram. Suffering shed loads of kernel panics in iTunes 3. Also had a couple in IE5.2 and even one in TextEdit (yes I know !). No third party RAM or disk - just the vanilla Apple spec as it came out of the box. Now on my third install and same problems are happening.

Would really appreciate some help. Here's the mess it leaves behind for those of you who speak panic log :

Looks like the Apple PMU driver is causing you these troubles. Have you any equipment connected to your machine through FW/USB? Try to disconnect them for a while to see if that helps, especially speakers or the likes.

Also, what kind of upgrade to 10.2 did you do? I recommend doing a backup of all your files, then reinstall from scratch with the format option (so make sure your backup is on another media). I have seen several people struggling with 10.2 that scored jackpot after reinstalling with format.
