FrontRow not listing .avi movie files

Hi MacOSX support member,

Just opening FrontRow for almost the first time and noticing that in the opening screen under MOVIES it lists one .mp4 movie and one .avi movie. It finds those files randomly on the harddrive? But why does it only list 2 while I have lots of .avi and some .iso files that are movies.

Thanks
Jan

Front Row looks in your 'Movies' folder for movies and/or anything in the 'Movies' section of iTunes.

By default Front Row does not support AVI so you will need to install Perian http://perian.org/ (codec pack) this might be the reason some wont show.

Hope this helps in some small way before the 'pros' answer.

Additionally FrontRow doesn't support .iso-files. You'd have to transcode those to MPEG-4 or another Quicktime-supported format.

installed perian but it only works for .mpeg files. the .avi's are still not listed.
any other suggestion?
tnkx!
