I've got two iPod batteries for sale -- both will only fit the 1G or 2G iPods. One is completely brand new that was bought as a replacement for my dead iPod. The other was the original battery in my dead 5 GB iPod that still got about 5 hours of charge before my iPod died. Since I have no replacement iPod to test out either battery, I can make no guarantees as to whether they work. The first is brand new, and the second presumably still works (since replacing the battery in my dead iPod didn't fix it).
The replacement is rated at 3.7 Volts, 1600 mAh. If needed, I will supply a small flathead screwdriver and instructions to open and replace your iPod's battery.
Also, I'd prefer if you were in the Bay Area so we could forgo shipping costs, since a battery probably wouldn't sell for much, anyway. That would also allow you to test out the battery before accepting it.
I don't expect any offers, but maybe someone will surprise me.
