ftp window refresh

I discovered that I can use the connect dialog box in the finder to mount a ftp server on my desktop. Thats pretty slick. There are two problems.

1) it always seems to be read only. Can I mount it read/write?

2) How do I get the current view to refresh? If the directory I'm looking at is changed, there does not seem to be anyway to get the finder to refetch the directory.

Fraid not. Limitation of the system, you can only mount it read only.

Try selecting a different directory, and then going back to the orriginal one. I don't know of a way to refresh without changing the view, anyone else?
